About

Welcome to Inclusive Approaches

Hi, I am Amanda. I am a mother of two amazing kids, a wife to Paul, and human to a fluffy GoldenDoodle named Noodles.

I have always loved breaking down complex concepts in anatomy, physiology, and medicine into simple, understandable ideas.

After 20 years in Science, and with a PhD in Genetics, Inclusive Approaches is a platform where I can put that experience and skill set to use.

At home, our Autistic family experiences diversity in the most personal ways. We navigate life with ADHD, auditory processing disorder (APD), expressive language differences, dyscalculia, and dyslexia.

From a medical view point I have first hand experience with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Endometriosis, Adenomyosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)—increasingly referred to as Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS); along side histamine intolerance and mast cell dysfunction.

Each diagnosis brings its own challenges—and its own unique strengths; with first-hand experience of public and private pathways in care, therapies, supports - or the lack thereof.

Inclusive Approaches was born from the limited range of neuroaffirmative resources available for my children specifically. I created stories, anchor charts, and tools to support them while celebrating their abilities.

My aim is to not only help individuals thrive in their own neurotype, but to also help them better support any Neurodivergent individuals that may be in their lives. I aim to help educate individuals about their own (or family member's) conditions and empower them to advocate for their own supports.
